Time clock in the browser
Workers clock in and out from their phone and pick the site. Rest breaks are paid and lunches are unpaid by default.
Site boundaries and auto clock-in
Set a radius of 25 to 2,000 meters around each building. With the time clock open and location shared, workers clock in on arrival and out after five minutes away.
Hour approvals
Clocking out submits the shift. Admins approve hours in bulk or reject them with a reason. Shifts open past 16 hours get flagged.
Time-off requests
Workers request vacation, sick, or personal time, and admins approve or deny it. Approved days block clock-in.
Employee portal
Each worker signs in to see upcoming visits, site entry instructions, and what each cleaning involves.
Pay runs for subcontractors
Subcontractors you invite can turn approved hours into pay runs, with a paystub PDF for each worker. No money moves through JanGuard.
01 / Location and consent
Workers agree before the time clock records a location
The first time a worker opens the time clock, JanGuard explains what gets shared and asks them to agree. Until they do, it records no location. Once they agree, JanGuard records where they clock in and out, plus a point about every 30 seconds while they're on the clock with JanGuard open. Closing the browser stops it.

Plan the route, then see who's clocked in
The route planner takes a day's scheduled buildings, or the ones due for inspection, and puts the stops in driving order with total distance and drive time. Once the night starts, the live map pins everyone on the clock where they clocked in and updates as shifts open and close.

Questions
Do you track workers' location all the time?
No. JanGuard records location only for workers who agreed to share it, and only while they're on the clock. It saves a point about every 30 seconds while JanGuard is open in the worker's browser. Closing the browser stops it. Workers can revoke consent from their settings and keep clocking in by hand.
Do workers need to install an app?
No. The time clock runs in the phone's browser. Workers sign in to their employee portal, where they also see their schedule and request time off. Because it's a web page, auto clock-in only works while the time clock is open on the phone.
Does JanGuard run payroll?
No. JanGuard doesn't withhold, file, or pay taxes, and no money moves through it. Subcontractors you invite can build pay runs for their own crews from approved hours, download a paystub PDF for each worker, export a payroll CSV, and mark each worker paid.
Can I fix a shift someone forgot to clock out of?
Yes. Admins can edit or void a shift and add hours by hand, up until the shift is part of a pay run. JanGuard logs each change with the values before and after. Approving a shift locks in its pay rate, so a later rate change doesn't alter hours already approved.
Can I track equipment and certifications?
Yes. Log equipment with its serial number, warranty date, assigned building or worker, and maintenance history, or import it from a spreadsheet. Worker records hold licenses, certifications, and training, flagged 30 days before they expire.
